Homecoming Week!!

This week is Homecoming Week at Tattnall. This is always an exciting week with many activities. We will be able to give up the uniform and dress in fun ways each day.
Monday- Camouflage day-Wear your favorite camo
Tuesday-College Day-Wear your favorite college shirt or jersey
Wednesday-Casual day (like a Friday) and wear flip flops
Thursday-Blue and Gold Day (girls, wear your painted jeans)
Friday- Class Color Day- Second grade color is orange

This Week

We are nearing the mid- term of the first semester. Progress reports will be included with signed papers on Friday, September 17. Can't believe we are here already. The students are doing great. Remember to continue reading and taking AR tests. Many of the books you have on your shelf at home may be Accelerated Reader books. To check a title, go to AR Bookfinder on the internet and then simply type the title and the program will show the test number. Because we are tied to the AR site, students can take the test at school!

Next Week

For the week of September 7-10, we will be reading a trade book. We will read Henry and Mudge the First Book. The Spelling list will be some easily misspelled sight words. There will not be any vocabulary this week. We will have a spelling test on Friday and all students will take an accelerated reader test to go with the story. Have a super Labor Day weekend!

Super Second Grade

We have had a wonderful start to the second grade! The students have transitioned well from first to second grade. Carpool continues to run very smoothly. Thank you for all you have done to make our start to school a successful one. Thank you for all the donations from our wish list.

UPCOMING EVENTS

• Field Day is Thursday, May 6th.
• End of year party is Thursday, May 20th. Pool party at the Brown's - 10:00-2:30
• Honor's Day is Wednesday, May 26th.
  

Second Grade enjoyed many activities to celebrate and develop an awareness for Earth Day. We planted flowers in the flower pots outside the Elementary building.
